Sorry to spam the list, but I just ran across this job posting, which
I am regrettably not qualified for. It really impressed me how
open-source oriented they are being.
Feel free to ignore. I won't make a habit of this.

The Job requirements include needing to know the CAN and MOST protocols?
Does this mean we can expect to see cars running the linux kernel? Well I
suppose it's better than windows CE

ECMs, no way in hell.

But notice the job posting says Infotainment Supplier, so for your
Navigation-Entertainment-AV system, yes you will probably see the
non-Ford companies use linux based systems. Hopefully they will do it
better than the linux based airline entertainment systems. Most people's
non-andriod exposure to linux is seeing the crashed movie server reboot
and display a penguin when they are on an uncomfortable crowded plane :(

More than probably -- there are suppliers today using some form of Linux as
their Infotainment kernel. Not all of them make a lot of noise about what's
"under the hood", however.
