Hello Everyone!

That's right, the Michigan LoCo is participating in the Ubuntu Global Jam
and we'll be getting together on the East side of the state at the
Clinton-Macomb Public Library.

What is a Global Jam? Lets quote from the wiki page:
The Ubuntu Global Jam is an incredible opportunity for the Ubuntu
community to unite together around the weekend of 26th - 28th March 2010
to work together to improve Ubuntu. Everyone is able to contribute to the
Jam, and everyone is welcome and encouraged to get involved. Curious
about how to make a real difference to Ubuntu? This is a great chance to
make that difference.

The Ubuntu Global Jam incorporates events that have been organized over
the world to get Ubuntu contributors and fans together to have a great
time and improve Ubuntu.

From: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuGlobalJam

For more information and to register, please go here:
http://loco.ubuntu.com/events/team/38/detail/
(you'll need a Launchpad account to register)

Hope to see a lot of new faces!

Best,

Greg

Dang! The one weekend in a while when I'll be out of town.

Any planned follow-up gatherings before the 10.04 releases?

Regards,
- Robert

We're thinking of doing a release party shin-dig at the Penguicon hotel
bar the weekend of Penguicon. There should be a good size group of FLOSSy
(and otherwise) people there. :)

Hope to see you around,

Greg

I've often thought I'd like to do jams a little more frequently. Like,
say, on a monthly basis. If there's sufficient interest...

Sounds worth pursuing. What would be your vision for these? Would
they be in the same place, at same time, on same day, and with same
scope each month or would they vary?

I think time and day should remain consistent. I personally would like
to see them all at the CMPL, but that's because I'm out on the Eastern
fringe, and that's the only site we've ever used that's remotely close
to me. In the interest of fairness (and attracting more people), I am
open to switching up the location. Scope will depend on the interests
of the folks who actually plan on attending, I think, and would be the
most flexible.

As good fortune would have it my trip has been postponed one week, so
I will be here.

See you all on Saturday.

Given that this is a bug jam and that Lucid is to be released next
month, what Lucid bugs are people here focusing on?
