Discussion:
[ubuntu-us-mi] Should the mailing list be hosted on gmane?

Hello, new list subscriber here. I don't know if it has been discussed
before but I was trying to read the archives of the list before I
subscribed and the format for archives on lists.ubuntu.com is just awful.
Is there any reason the list shouldn't be hosted on gmane.org or something
similar that makes it a little easier to follow and jump between threads?
Sorry if I'm missing some obvious reason this shouldn't be done.

Dan

Perhaps someone on the list would correct me if I'm wrong but the only
reasons I can think of is nobody thought to put the time and effort into
doing it, and nobody else requested it.

If you want to make it happen you have my blessing (whatever that's
worth. :) )

That said: what in particular didn't you like about the archive format?
I'll admit I haven't used gmane much and have taken GNUMailman's archive
format with all applicable warts and all.

Thanks, and welcome to the list!

I just find it easier to follow threads in the gmane format where the
messages load in a frame under a tree of messages especially when threads
branch often

Ah, no worries then. If you know how to get the gmane mirroring set up
feel free to take that on.

Thanks!
