Is there any users in the Cadillac, MI area or any LUG's in the Cadillac area. I'm having some crazy unusual issues in setting up any flavour of linux on this PC and I'd love to find someone in my local area that I could go to or whom could possibly come to me and take a look see at this. Its behaving very strange unlike anything i've ever seen before. Of course it runs UEFI Bios and I've had nothing but issues with Windows OS as well. The Hardware is less then a year old and when I do a fresh Windows OS Install it runs great for a week or two then it goes bad. When Installing any flavor of linux it keeps locking up. I use Logitech Mouse and Keyboard which I don't know if maybe that's the problem it might not like the Unity receiver. If you have any suggestions or know of anyone in my area who could help that'd be great. Come hell or high water I will get Linux running on this PC I will never go back to Microsoft not even a dual boot is an option. Thank you for any help you could provide

I'm near Alpena but that's still rather far away. Those symptoms imply a
hardware problem. What Linux distro and version are you using?

If the keyboard or mouse is at fault then they will perform erratically or
stop responding. However, the system could still be functioning when this
happens. The easiest way to tell is to look for activity on the desktop
like movie or music still playing, game activity, web page animations or
refreshes occurring, or the clock still updating time. If nothing like
that is still active then it's a system freeze, not just a keyboard/mouse
freeze. You can also try a different keyboard or mouse. If you have a
spare USB keyboard you can usually plug it in anytime, like when your
existing keyboard stops responding. Windows may want to load a driver for
it but Linux usually works immediately.

Other possibilities include bad RAM (run Memtest86+ on it), a failing hard
drive (check the SMART status), a loose drive cable, or overheating due to
dust built-up or failing fans.
