Hi all,

So I chatted with tjagoda and AaronThule before last weekend's meeting
about Penguicon, but I haven't heard anything back yet. The subject
was how to get the IGDA involved with Penguicon to bring some game dev
to the conference. Not much can really be done this year, but perhaps
next year can be much bigger. For now, I would definately like to do
something.

So, was this discussed on Sunday at all?

Fyi: www.igdadetroit.org for more info.

Thanks,

Yes, Rich, it was. I apologize for not following up with you sooner.

Basically, we like the idea of a game demo session (which, for the love
of tux, I really hope you put in our hotel room on saturday). We also
like the idea of one or more IGDA-related panel discussions. We dont,
however, think you'll have much (or any) success with people actually
sitting down over the weekend to write some code and develop actual
games at the convention. There are simply too many fun and exciting
things going on for people to want to stay penned up developing code.

So, basically, were looking for some descriptive paragraph-shaped blurbs
on each of the events you'd like to hold, be they panels, game demos, or
even the coding thing you described, and then I will be able to bring
those to the technical programming meeting.

Thanks! You can send the blurbs directly to my address (listed below)
if you dont want to throw them all over the lists.
