Anyone here try installing Ubuntu eeepc on their eeepc?

I ran it from a 1 GB USB stick just fine, except that I couldn't save
any settings. Went through the installation process and pointed it to
a 2 GB USB stick. The installation appeared to finish, but it does
not run: insufficient disk space.
